Current Camera: Nikon D7000

My trusty camera is a 15-year old teen now. Born in 2010. Bought from a 2nd hand store in 2019 after the D5200 passed away from a fungi infection. RIP

The only con this camera has is recording but that’s fine because it’s photographic functions are top tier. It is a brick though, small wrists beware. The battery life on this is superb.

Lenses: Nikon 18-200mm VR II and wide angle lens Nikon 10-20mm DX VR

I carry these 2 lenses all the time. Was initially stuck with the 10-20mm that really limited my perspectives (in a good learning way) before adding the 18-200mm which is a game changer. If I’m limited to one, 18-200mm is the way to go. I could still make the photos wide by stitching photos together.

Previous Camera: Nikon D5200

Entry level baby. Born in 2013. Has a flip screen the D7000 didn’t have. Best way to learn photography is to destroy the one thing you love. Feel free to sacrifice $600 for this.

Much lighter body than the D7000 but doesn’t have professional features like weatherproofing etc. My failure as a beginner was not buying a dry box throughout 6 years of use.

Tripod: SLIK SPRINT PRO III 3WAY BK

Haven’t changed the tripod for as long as I know. 10+ years and still going strong, in pretty good condition though I might’ve lost a part that isn’t important. Most stable boy.

Drone: DJI Mini 4 Pro

I’ve always been told that it’s pointless to fly in Singapore and that it is an “old man’s hobby“. Maybe someone just hasn’t proven that it isn’t yet. I always have the intention to fly overseas whenever I can. Though not as fast as an FPV, I think this is the peak mini drone DJI has created despite newer models being released.

Action Camera: DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro

Newest kid to the collection. I’ve contemplated a lot about getting a vlog cam but I have a iPhone which does a good job at recording already. What I don’t have is a durable camera for action and this fills up the gap.

I own a couple mounting options. Cap, head (doesn’t work well on long hair), chest, wrist. Get some that suits your activity and you might get some new perspectives whilst recording. It’s a fun toy!

Memory Cards: Sandisk

Hasn’t failed me once and I use micro SD from Sandisk as well. I only have 1 SD card for my camera lol I’m aware of the risk if it fails!

Bagpack: Manfrotto Lifestyle NX CSC & Wandrd PRVKE 21L V2

Ditched Wandrd the moment I got a Manfrotto because it works better as a camera and drone bag. Manfrotto is lighter to carry and also without the excessive pockets. Would still keep the Wandrd for a more rugged getaway.

Dry Box: Samurai 30L

A must have. My one body and 2 lens live here rent free and there’s still space for more.

  1. Peak design strap. The Nikon strap I’ve been using is too loud.
